As a Security Guard - Unarmed Full-Time Patrol - Shelter in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will patrol and monitor designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will conduct routine rounds, interact with staff and visitors, and provide outstanding customer service, all while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach. Requirements

At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the location's needs.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible presence.
Observe and report any suspicious activities and/or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
Assist residents, visitors, and staff by providing information and support as needed while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Complete detailed and accurate reports documenting patrols, observations, and incidents as required by Allied Universal and client site protocols.
