As an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access points and guest flow. You will communicate clearly with shoppers, tenants, and onsite teams, document observations, and respond to concerns with professionalism. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting de-escalation and requesting assistance as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout retail floors, common areas, entrances and exits, back-of-house areas, and the exterior perimeter as assigned.
  • Monitor access points and observe customer and staff activity to help to deter suspicious behavior, reporting concerns promptly and completing required documentation.
  • Communicate clearly with store management, onsite teams, and/or law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary, following post orders and escalation protocols.
