As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a residential location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and conduct routine patrols to help to deter security-related incidents. Your visible presence and commitment to exceptional customer service will foster a welcoming atmosphere. You will use technology such as computers or tablets to support access control procedures, while upholding our company's values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access points at the residential location to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a secure environment for residents and visitors.
  • Provide customer service by greeting residents, guests, and contractors, verifying identification, and assisting with inquiries as needed.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures related to access control, including the issuance and tracking of visitor passes and/or parking permits.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues to the appropriate personnel when required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and report any unusual observations.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of access activities, incidents, and/or any security-related occurrences as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Support emergency response activities according to established procedures, including assisting residents and coordinating with emergency services if necessary.
