Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related activities, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site contacts and/or management.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential location, including common areas, hallways, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas as assigned.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious behavior while following post orders and property guidelines.
  • Support a professional environment by assisting with routine inquiries, observing for maintenance and/or life-related hazards, and communicating notable activity according to site procedures.
