As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor assigned public areas through routine foot and bike patrols, maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will engage with community members, assist with wayfinding and de-escalation, communicate clearly by radio, and document observations and responses. Requirements

  • Be able to ride a bike.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 lbs preferred.
  • Have a guard card or license preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a public-facing municipal location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or hazards, with working conditions varying by assignment.
  • Monitor entrances, public spaces, and restricted areas; verify authorized access where required and direct visitors to appropriate destinations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and contacting appropriate resources as needed.
  • Document patrol activity, observations, and incident details in daily reports and/or logs, and communicate pertinent information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
