As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and respond to concerns with calm, customer-focused service. Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions, then take appropriate action within post orders, including requesting assistance from on-site personnel and/or public emergency services when needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including writing clear incident reports and documenting activities in logs as required.
  • Perform security-related checks of doors, gates, and restricted areas, and communicate concerns to supervision and/or site contacts in a timely manner.
