As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. You will document observations, support access control when needed, and work as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative Allied Universal team that puts people first and leads with integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the public, employees, and/or visitors by following site-specific procedures and post orders in a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of platforms, concourses, corridors, stairwells, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
  • Monitor for unusual conditions, potential hazards, and/or policy violations; document observations and report concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting supervision and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Complete detailed reports, maintain activity logs, and communicate clearly with site representatives and Allied Universal supervision regarding incidents, patrol findings, and/or service requests.
