Job Description As a Security Guard - Mall Screening Specialist in Washington, DC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Screener in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for guests, staff, and merchandise. Your presence and exceptional customer service will help to deter security-related incidents while supporting a welcoming atmosphere. Requirements

At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the retail location.
Conduct screening of individuals entering the premises to help to deter prohibited items and unauthorized access.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, employees, and/or law enforcement as needed.
Document and report any unusual activity or security-related incidents according to Allied Universal guidelines.
Assist with emergency response activities when appropriate, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
