About The Position

As a Security Guard - Government Facility Patrol - Full Time in Long Island City, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond appropriately to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and promote a secure environment for staff and visitors.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents or irregularities according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with other Allied Universal team members and local authorities as needed to address security-related situations.
  • Remain alert to surroundings and communicate any concerns or unusual activity to the appropriate personnel.
