As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help reduce security-related incidents. You will observe, document, and communicate conditions and activity, support site procedures, and provide helpful customer service to staff and visitors. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report relevant details to site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor traffic during patrol rounds, verify identification and/or credentials when required, and document entries, exits, and unusual activity per post orders.
  • Complete routine reports such as daily activity logs, incident reports, and maintenance or hazard observations, and communicate updates to the Allied Universal supervisor and/or client contacts.
