As a Security Guard - Foot Patrol Specialist in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a commercial real estate location, you will complete routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence, and support access control and badge checks as needed. You will document observations, communicate clearly with building teams, and provide customer-focused assistance to tenants and visitors. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial office areas, lobbies, common spaces, parking areas, and building perimeters; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual activity, policy violations, and/or hazards; document findings and notify property management and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, reporting, and coordination with onsite personnel and/or public responders.
  • Complete routine reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs using written and/or electronic systems in accordance with site procedures.
