As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine patrols across facilities and lots, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license that meets Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of platforms, transit areas, parking lots, and perimeter to help to deter loitering, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access control, crowd direction, and coordination with site personnel and/or public responders as directed.
  • Monitor and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations; document observations and actions in daily activity logs and incident reports.
  • Support security-related operations by checking doors, gates, and restricted areas; escorting authorized personnel when requested; and answering general questions while maintaining a professional presence.
