As an Allied Universal Security Officer supporting a utilities location, you will staff key access points, verify credentials, manage visitor check-in, and monitor alarms and cameras to help reduce security-related incidents. You will complete routine patrols of assigned areas, write clear reports, and communicate professionally with employees and contractors. Requirements
- Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
- Control access at gates, lobbies, and/or checkpoints by verifying identification and authorization, issuing temporary badges as directed, managing visitor sign-in, and maintaining access logs.
- Monitor alarms, CCTV, and/or access control systems and report irregular activity or policy violations, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or restricted-area access.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services per post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, parking areas, and perimeter routes as assigned, documenting observations and reporting maintenance or security-related concerns.
