As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication to staff, patients, and visitors. This post requires an Armed Guard Card and/or license. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or batons is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and coordination with site leadership and/or local responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification, monitoring visitor flow, and documenting entries, exits, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and shift logs, communicate security-related concerns to supervision, and handle and store issued equipment and firearms per training and policy.
