As an armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a financial institution location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with clear communication and strong customer service. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, site-specific post orders, and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, disturbances, suspicious activity, and/or alarm activations.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, public areas, cash handling areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and control entry for employees, visitors, and vendors using approved screening, identification verification, and/or authorization processes.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions using surveillance systems, patrol observations, and client communication channels, escalating concerns through the chain of command as required.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including checks of doors, gates, alarms, and key control practices in accordance with site-specific policies.
  • Provide visible armed presence and professional engagement with staff and visitors, offering directions, de-escalation support, and service-based communication.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities in written reports and electronic systems, maintaining accurate, timely, and complete security-related records.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and on-site leadership during incidents, relaying clear information and following established response protocols.
  • Conduct security-related checks of restricted areas, equipment rooms, and/or ATM and night depository areas as directed by post orders.
  • Maintain professional appearance and readiness for duty, including completion of required training, briefings, and compliance activities for armed assignments.
