Security Guard - Evening Roving Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Guard - Evening Roving Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication, respond to concerns, and document activities as needed. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, corridors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions, reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and/or maintenance concerns to the appropriate department.
- Complete detailed shift reports and incident documentation, and communicate key updates during shift transitions to support continuity of operations.
