As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support access points and check credentials as needed, respond to calls for assistance, and communicate clearly with staff, students, and visitors while delivering a customer service mindset. Requirements
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service at an educational location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, classrooms, parking areas, and perimeter points; note and report unusual activity or conditions.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access control issues, disturbances, and/or medical-related calls until help arrives.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other security-related systems when assigned; document observations and communicate updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Complete detailed reports and logs, including incident reports, patrol activity notes, and/or visitor and contractor entries, in accordance with site requirements.
