Job Description As a Security Guard - Distribution Center Patrol in Newark, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated logistics and distribution areas, helping to deter security-related incidents through routine patrols and a visible presence. You will provide outstanding customer service and communication while supporting a secure environment for employees and visitors. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control or badge experience is preferred.
X ray screening experience is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the logistics and distribution facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel or authorities.
Assist with controlling access to the location, verifying credentials of individuals entering and exiting the premises as required.
Maintain detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences encountered during patrols.
Support Allied Universal and client staff by providing information, directions, and assistance as needed in the logistics and distribution environment.
