As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license that meets Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with campus officials and/or local first responders as directed.
  • Monitor access points and campus activity, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and assist with visitor check-in, directions, and de-escalation of disruptive situations.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in written reports and logs, and communicate relevant updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
