As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors through clear communication and professional customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors at a government location by following post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, documenting observations and reporting conditions that may help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorization, and assist with screening of people, vehicles, and deliveries per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with on-site personnel and/or public agency partners as directed.
  • Complete required security-related reports such as incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity logs, and communicate status updates through approved radio and/or phone channels.
