About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Utilities Desk in Council Bluffs, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, greeting guests and managing access to the premises. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. This is an armed post, offering you the opportunity to utilize your training in a dynamic and people-focused environment that values integrity, reliability, and teamwork.

Requirements

Graduation from a law enforcement or military police training program or an equivalent program is required.
An armed guard card or license is required.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist visitors, employees, and/or contractors at the front desk of a utilities location, following site-specific security-related procedures and protocols.
Monitor access to the building by verifying identification and issuing visitor badges as required, helping to deter unauthorized entry.
Respond to incidents and critical situations at the front desk in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal and site-specific emergency response procedures.
Maintain accurate logs and records of visitor activity, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences as directed by site policies.
Communicate professionally and courteously with clients, guests, and Allied Universal team members to address inquiries or concerns.
Remain alert at the front desk to observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related matters to the appropriate personnel.
