About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Shelter Rover Driver in San Antonio, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff and guests with calm, respectful customer service. This is an armed and driving post, requiring an Armed Guard Card and a valid driver’s license that meets AU driver policy requirements. Requirements

Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Must have at least 3 years of either military, law enforcement, corrections or armed security experience.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Must pass a Physical Fitness Exam (1 mile run: 12 minutes, 22 sit ups & 12 push ups)

Nice To Haves

CPR and/or first aid certification is preferred.
Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by following post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including parking areas and perimeter points, documenting observations to help to deter unwanted activity.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, summoning emergency services when needed, and coordinating with site leadership.
Control access by verifying identification, monitoring entry and exit points, and enforcing visitor and resident rules in a respectful, professional manner.
Complete detailed written and/or electronic reports of patrol activity, incidents, and unusual conditions, and communicate shift updates to Allied Universal leadership and incoming personnel.
