As an Armed Patrol Officer at a premier commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a highly visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to situations with clear communication, strong customer service, and teamwork, supporting a caring culture that puts people first. This is an armed post requiring an armed guard card/license.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement/military/security experience OR a college degree.
  • Have a concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Have a New York State security guard license.
  • Have an armed guard card/license.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a commercial real estate location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, elevator entrapments and/or disturbances.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of building interiors, common areas, parking areas and the perimeter, documenting observations and reporting maintenance concerns or suspicious activity.
  • Control access to the property by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials when required, and assisting with visitor and tenant directions and/or questions.
  • Complete detailed reports for incidents, patrol activity and unusual conditions, and coordinate with property management and responding public agencies as needed.
