About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Officer in Huntsville, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading aero and defense location as an armed patrol officer, conducting routine rounds and remaining highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control, respond to alarms and/or unusual activity, and provide clear communication and customer service to employees and visitors. Requirements

A concealed carry weapons permit is required.
At least 6+ months of security-related experience is required.
An armed guard card and/or license is required.
Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, production areas, parking lots and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
Control access at entrances and restricted areas by checking identification, verifying authorizations, screening visitors and/or contractors and directing traffic and deliveries per site requirements.
Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, maintain required armed post qualifications, and handle issued equipment and firearms in accordance with Allied Universal policies and site directives.
