As a Security Guard - Armed Mobile Patrol in East Granby, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service with calm professionalism. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, document activity in digital reports, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. Requirements

  • Client requires proof of HS Diploma/GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • State, County, or City Issued Security License - preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet - preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid - preferred.
  • Armed Guard Card/License - preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities.
  • Perform armed post duties in accordance with state and local laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies, including maintaining control of issued equipment and following use-of-force guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, and/or calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with onsite leadership and local public agencies as needed.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and/or shift documentation, and communicate relevant information during post checks and shift turnovers.
