Job Description As a Security Guard - Armed Mobile Patrol Driver in Taylorsville, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will perform routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with calm, professional communication. You will document observations, assist staff and visitors with directions and questions, and support a team that values integrity, reliability, and innovation. This post requires carrying a valid driver’s license and working an armed assignment.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties in accordance with post orders, applicable laws, and Allied Universal guidelines, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or contraband movement.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and local first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, housing areas, sally ports, perimeter lines, and parking areas; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, patrol activities, and unusual observations, maintaining accurate logs and/or chain-of-custody documentation when required.
