You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine patrols and reports, stay highly visible to help to deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with calm, professional communication. This role requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements, backed by teamwork, integrity, and an agile, innovative culture.

Requirements

  • An Armed Guard Card or license is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Carry and maintain issued firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policy, post orders, and applicable laws, and use calm verbal de-escalation techniques when addressing disruptive behavior.
  • Control access to buildings and restricted areas by verifying identification, managing visitor check-in and badge procedures, and monitoring entrances for unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching appropriate resources, coordinating with site leadership and/or public responders, and completing required notifications.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior spaces, parking areas, and perimeter routes, observe and report unusual conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity, and document findings in daily activity and incident reports.
