As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm, clear communication. This is an armed post requiring an Armed Guard Card or License, and it is a driving role requiring a valid driver’s license. Join a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and people first.

Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Have 6 months or more of armed security-related and/or law enforcement and/or military experience.
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government corrections location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of housing units, common areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter prohibited activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with site staff and/or first responders as needed.
  • Support access control operations by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor processing, and documenting authorized movement within designated areas.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, activity logs, and shift documentation, and follow all Allied Universal and site requirements for weapons handling, communications, and use of force guidelines.
