Requirements

Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Applicants must provide one of the following: a DD214 with honorable discharge, an associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
A guard card or license is preferred.
An armed guard card or license is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor for and report any suspicious behavior or security-related concerns observed during patrols.
Maintain a visible presence at the location to help to deter potential disturbances and/or unauthorized access.
Communicate with Allied Universal management and local authorities as needed in response to incidents.
Document all incidents and activities in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
Carry and responsibly handle a firearm as required by the armed post profile, following all applicable laws and company protocols.
