About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Driver Patrol in Laurinburg, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document activities, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and respond to situations with calm professionalism and strong customer service. This is an armed and driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. At Allied Universal, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and reliability to every shift.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to site staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
• Conduct armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas on a regular and random basis, observing for unusual activity, contraband indicators, and/or policy violations and reporting concerns through the chain of command.
• Control access at gates, sally ports, and/or entrances by screening individuals, verifying identification and authorization, logging entries and exits, and performing vehicle and property inspections as directed by post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with facility personnel and/or public law enforcement as needed, and following use-of-force guidelines and reporting requirements.
• Complete shift documentation such as incident reports, patrol logs, and equipment checks, and maintain required armed post qualifications and condition of issued equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site policies.
