As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor flow, communicate clearly with team members and site leadership, and deliver customer service that reflects Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity in a people-first culture.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail distribution location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas including dock doors, trailer yards, parking areas, and perimeter lines; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control access for employees, drivers, and vendors by verifying identification and/or shipping documentation, directing traffic flow, and maintaining orderly entry and exit at gates and receiving areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, medical events, property damage, and disturbances; request additional assistance when needed.
  • Complete detailed daily activity logs and incident reports, communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management, and help to identify potential security-related concerns.
