As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol facilities and surrounding areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and assist riders and staff with courteous communication. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and meeting AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will report concerns, support a caring people-first culture, and deliver through teamwork with integrity, reliability, agility, and innovation. Position Type: Flex Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Wed 05:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and passengers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property damage; working environments and conditions may vary by post assignment.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, and restricted areas; verify identification and/or authorization as required, manage visitor logs, and direct individuals to appropriate locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disorderly conduct, medical calls, alarms, and/or suspicious activity; coordinate notifications with site contacts and public responders as needed.
  • Complete patrol logs and incident reports, communicate observations via radio and/or phone, and report maintenance hazards such as lighting outages, broken locks, and/or unsecured doors.
