As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor and vehicle access, and conduct routine patrols to help reduce security-related incidents. You will stay visible, respond to requests, document activity, and communicate clearly with site teams and drivers while delivering a welcoming customer service experience. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, processing visitor and contractor check-in and/or check-out, issuing temporary credentials per site policy and maintaining access logs.
  • Screen and direct inbound and outbound vehicle and pedestrian traffic at docks, gates and/or receiving areas, following shipping and receiving protocols while helping to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating with site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision, documenting actions taken and completing required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including monitoring doors, staging areas and dock zones, checking for irregular conditions and escalating concerns per site procedure.
