About The Position

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Security Engineer, Additive Manufacturing with a TS/SCI security clearance to support KITS and our government customer at the Mark Center, Alexandria, VA. We are looking for two dedicated Security Engineers to join an Additive Manufacturing (AM) Security Assessment team. As a Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating security risks within our AM ecosystem and innovating the assessment and analysis processes. You will be responsible for conducting collaborative technical assessments, analyzing vulnerabilities, briefing and proposing effective corrective actions.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI Security clearance.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in a security-focused role, with a strong understanding of vulnerability assessment and mitigation.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices for information technology and operational technology systems.
  • Experience with security assessment tools and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with industrial control systems or manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with operational technology and specifically additive manufacturing technologies is desirable.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, Security+) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Vulnerability Analysis: Conduct in-depth security assessments of our AM systems, networks, and processes to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Threat Modeling: Participate in threat modeling exercises to understand potential attack vectors and their impact on AM operations.
  • Corrective Action: Propose and assist in the implementation of technical solutions to mitigate identified security risks.
  • Framework Contribution: Contribute to the development and refinement of the AM Security Assessment Framework.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Task Lead and other team members to achieve the team's goals.
  • Documentation: Document findings, proposed solutions, and implemented controls in a clear and concise manner.
  • Conduct cross-event analyses to produce a summative security assessment of AM systems.
