About The Position

Security Dispatcher: Works: Wednesdays AND every Saturday, 6a-6p, with the possibility of overtime, training requires Mon-Fri 8a-5p until completed, Norwood, Security, Part-time, great benefits, paid time off. Lots of computer work in a FAST PACED environment. Radio communication (to be taught) in stressful situations communicating in a calm, professional manner (for example urgent patient situations). Responsible for receiving vital information via telephone or in person and then communicating it in a timely manner, A dispatcher is responsible for monitoring all cameras and alarms and documenting activities and completing appropriate reports

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Computer literate - requires a strong proficiency in computer systems: Outlook, Excel and specialized programs in the department (data entry) to be taught
  • 1-2 years experience in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manages the operation of the dispatch center.
  • Responsible for dispatching Security Officers to incidents in a timely manner.
  • Completes all security department documentation in a professional manner; this includes complete follow-up and documentation to all reports initiated.
  • Effectively communicate with persons via intercoms and achieve an appropriate outcome.
  • Prepares for work by reviewing incident reports, logs, bulletin boards, etc on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for filing reports and information in Comm. Center binders and files in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for assisting with issuing agency badges, temporary badges and issuing parking permits and collecting payments.
  • Second and third shift dispatchers communicate with patient areas to determine if persons arriving after regular visiting hours are eligible to visit and dispatches an Officer to deliver a pass as necessary.
  • Responsible for monitoring all security camera equipment and emergency alarms -e.g., burglary, fire and panic alarms- and timely dispatch of Security, Police and Fire Departments.
  • Responsible for issuing Burning/Welding permits and performing fire system adjustments
