About The Position

Gen3 seeks a Junior Security Control Assessment (SCA) Analyst to support our federal clients. The successful candidate will hold a degree in a related technical field and possess 1-3 years of cybersecurity experience. He/she will have familiarity with NIST and how security controls are applied and assessed in a federal environment. The candidate must pay attention to detail and have a technical understanding to create and execute test cases, and confirm evidence of compliance. He/she must have strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to work with Information Security Officers and Managers. Note: This is a remote position

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience in information security, cyber risk management, network defense, or IT system administration with a security focus. Experience may include internships, co-op positions, or hands-on cybersecurity training programs that demonstrate applied understanding of security principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field. An Associate degree plus 2 additional years of hands-on experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of three (3) out of the past five (5) years of residency in the United States is mandatory.
  • Candidates must possess either an active green card or citizenship.
  • Prospective employees offered a position must have work authorization that does not necessitate employer-sponsored visa sponsorship, both presently and in the future.
  • Those selected for this role may undergo a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility criteria for accessing classified information or be eligible for security clearances.
