About The Position

The Security & Asset Protect Specialist will direct and guide the division security program with the purpose of protecting division assets (lives, buildings, equipment, and inventory) and providing a secure working environment for all associates. This position will be based out of Appleton, WI.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years field experience in retail /wholesale security, asset protection, audit, risk management, inventory control, quality assurance, or other related field
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws
  • Current understanding of access control and closed circuit television technology
  • Demonstrated interview and interrogation techniques
  • Experience with warehouse or distribution center services
  • Workplace Violence and/or Business Continuity experience
  • Ability to work in a diverse organization and communicate effectively at multiple levels of the organization
  • High professional ethics, unquestionable integrity, and strong work ethic
  • Good decision making, organization, prioritization and planning skills
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment that requires walking up to 5 miles a day and ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently with off-site supervision
  • Must be flexible to work weekends and/or overnight shifts as necessary
  • Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, and travel on short notice as needed
  • Ability to travel +/- 50% of time
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test (do not test for THC / marijuana)

Nice To Haves

  • Interviewing and Interrogation experience desired, Wicklander and Zulawski certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ensure internal controls are being followed and audit systems
  • Assist with investigations of internal and external theft and fraud and conduct interviews when appropriate
  • Train team members on loss prevention tactics
  • Administer a process for management of security and loss prevention matters including formulating and implementing policies and programs that provide a secure working environment and protect division property
  • Partner with Corporate Security Manager in the selection, installation, and maintenance of alarm systems, access control, and closed circuit television equipment that meet the needs of the business
  • Manage key and access control for all assigned facilities
  • Conduct sensitive interrogations and interviews to gather important pertinent information and document accordingly
  • Lead investigation of security breaches and criminal acts and prepare detailed reports, making recommendations to avoid future loss wherever possible
  • Conduct security audits at all facilities and provide recommendations to strengthen security and prevent losses
  • Foster a working relationship with all applicable law enforcement agencies in the municipalities where the division operates
  • Research and stay current on emerging topics in loss prevention/assets protection
  • Establish measurements and improvement objectives for loss prevention across the corporation
  • Design training and communication programs and SOPs related to associate security, loss prevention, and assets protection
  • Review and analyze changes to local, state, and federal laws pertaining to security, and report necessary or suggested responses to management
  • Serve as a liaison and security subject matter expert for facility management, keeping them abreast of key issues, strategies and the department’s performance
  • Effectively partner with internal customers in evaluating current and future security services, processes and initiatives
  • Proficient with MS Office Professional Suite, including intermediate knowledge of Excel
