About The Position

The Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. The Secure Facility Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring the organization’s operations align with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role leads compliance initiatives, conducts audits and investigations, and advises leaders and staff on regulatory requirements. The Compliance Manager interprets government regulations, reviews contracts for compliance, and collaborates with legal counsel, technical experts, and regulatory officials to resolve complex issues and promote voluntary corrective actions. In addition to overseeing compliance activities, this position manages a team of five to seven employees, providing leadership in hiring, performance management, and staff development. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and communication skills, a thorough understanding of relevant regulations, and a commitment to maintaining transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Three years of directly related work experience
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • A thorough understanding of relevant regulations
  • A commitment to maintaining transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices across the organization
