About The Position

This position serves as the site-level owner of compliance execution, acting as the primary liaison between operations, maintenance, sanitation, vendors, inspectors, and corporate compliance. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-driven, and capable of holding teams accountable while maintaining audit-ready conditions at all times.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in facility operations, compliance, food safety, sanitation, maintenance, or safety within a food distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience supporting audits, inspections, or regulatory compliance programs
  • Demonstrated supervisory or lead experience overseeing cross-functional teams or vendors
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, sanitation programs, and facility maintenance principles

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Food Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day facility compliance related to building conditions, food safety, sanitation, maintenance, and safety standards
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to assess structural integrity, cleanliness, equipment condition, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements including food safety, OSHA, fire/life safety, and environmental standards
  • Coordinate corrective actions and follow-ups related to facility deficiencies or audit findings
  • Oversee and audit maintenance and sanitation programs to ensure work is performed effectively, on schedule, and in compliance with internal standards
  • Review and approve maintenance and sanitation schedules based on facility needs, risk, and operational demands
  • Hold maintenance and sanitation teams accountable for performance, documentation, and corrective actions
  • Audit completed work orders, PMs, and sanitation records for accuracy and completeness
  • Serve as the primary site contact for facility service vendors, contractors, and inspectors
  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee vendor services including sanitation, pest control, refrigeration, HVAC, fire systems, and building repairs
  • Verify vendor compliance with safety, food safety, and documentation requirements
  • Escalate vendor performance issues and support corrective actions as needed
  • Conduct scheduled and unannounced internal audits covering: o Facility conditions o Sanitation programs o Maintenance programs o Food safety and safety compliance
  • Maintain organized records for audits, inspections, corrective actions, and verifications
  • Support regulatory inspections and third-party audits by serving as the site compliance representative
  • Maintain site-level compliance records including sanitation logs, maintenance logs, inspection reports, and audit documentation
  • Support implementation and site-level updates of policies, SOPs, and compliance procedures
  • Ensure controlled documents are current, accessible, and properly executed at the facility
  • Track corrective actions and verify effectiveness
  • Conduct and coordinate facility-level training on: o New and revised policies o SOPs o Food safety, sanitation, maintenance, and compliance procedures
  • Maintain training records and ensure employee understanding and execution · Actively reinforce accountability across departments for compliance execution Communication & Reporting · Provide routine compliance and facility status updates to the General Manager and Corporate Compliance Manager · Escalate compliance risks, regulatory issues, or facility concerns in a timely manner · Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, sanitation, and leadership to resolve issues and improve performance · Perform Operational Tasks as may be required.
