SECRETARY – Part-Time Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the immediate supervisor(s): (1) Provide secretarial services, with specific instructions, using College Standard software and associated peripherals: produce documents from written, oral or electronically produced/transferred materials; proofread typed materials for accuracy; answer phones and screen calls as required and directed; place routine calls and dispense routine information; greet visitors; maintain files and records; schedule appointments; make travel arrangements; open, organize, and distribute mail; inventory and order office supplies; operate general office equipment, such as copier and fax machine as required. Organizational Relationships: Responsible to the immediate supervisor(s) for performance of assigned responsibilities. Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level that ensures efficient and effective support to all people she/he supports. Qualification: (1) Education: (a) high school graduate; (b) any combination of training or experience which would facilitate the performance of the above responsibilities. (2) Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: (a) proficient in College standard software including knowledge of MSWord/Excel/Access software, accurate keyboarding; (b) excellent interpersonal skills with a high degree of confidentiality required; c) ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize work; (d) good oral and written communication skills; (e) ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions. Availability of Annual Security and Fire Safety Report The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is currently available online. Click here to view. The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as : campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the College will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-Campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the College or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years. A paper copy will be provided upon request.
