About The Position

KBR’s Mission Engineering Division delivers complex technical solutions and expert support to the U.S. Department of Defense, specializing in modeling and simulation, cyber transformation, air vehicle mission integration, and lifecycle support. We are seeking a dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Secretary to serve as the front desk representative of our office in Lexington Park, MD . This role is the first point of contact for visitors and staff and combines traditional administrative support with responsibilities in security, logistics, and event coordination. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where multitasking and discretion are key.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship & an active secret security clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an office or administrative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting front desk or reception functions in a government or defense contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools for internal communications and event materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and vendors, ensuring professional and courteous interactions.
  • Manage front desk operations, including handling incoming and outgoing mail and maintaining visitor logs.
  • Support administrative activities such as document preparation, data entry, and correspondence.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating conference room bookings.
  • Provide logistics support, including ordering office supplies, tracking inventory, and maintaining office organization.
  • Assist with security procedures and access control in coordination with facility management.
  • Plan and support office events, including creating flyers, newsletters, and digital content using Canva.
  • Design and schedule monthly lobby screen content to enhance the visitor and employee experience.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily office operations and team needs.
