One California Job Summary and Responsibilities Performs clerical duties, coordinates departmental communication, and assists with departmental and selected patient care related activities. This position interacts with personnel of all ages. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) Processes and documents information Communicates information thoroughly and gives concise report at change of shift. Communicates appropriate information to all members of the healthcare team. Writes neatly and legibly. Inputs data into the computer accurately. Accuracy in processing of physician orders.

Requirements

  • Clear understanding of office procedures
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED, upon hire
  • Prior experience as a Unit Secretary in anacute care setting preferred, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Course in medical terminology
  • Completion of a Unit Secretary training program preferred
  • Ability to type 35 wpm and have technical skills with word processing
