About The Position

Provides secretarial and accounting services for the Special Service Area office and the Sewer Superintendent. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: performs secretarial duties as assigned by the Sewer Superintendent; assembles material and takes minutes for monthly Sewer Committee meeting issues sewer permits and assists in locating sewer tap-ons prepares payroll for sewer office employees; maintains personnel records codes and records all bills; prepares pay vouchers for attorney and engineer and committee members including mileage vouchers records expenses of lift stations and company trucks greets customers, answers phone and receives payments prepares bank deposits, reconciles monthly statements, and notarizes necessary documents orders office supplies maintains all office files responds to inquiries/resolves complaints from customers about bills prepares any supplementary reports required by the Sewer Committee reviews monthly delinquent reports and files all necessary papers pertaining to liens, collections, etc. testifies as expert witness in court cases relating to delinquencies serves as liaison with credit agency concerning handling of delinquent accounts performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above Madison County Government offers a competitive compensation package including: Competitive wages on a step plan with guaranteed increases based on years of service.
