Positions in this class are secretaries to section supervisors or division managers one level removed from Departmental Director. This class may serve at higher organizational levels if other secretarial classifications are present in the same office, or close supervision is received. Position is responsible for answering, directing, and screening calls from the public and employees; using a computer or word processor to transcribe correspondence, minutes and other documents; keeping office files and records; and performing clerical tasks as assigned. Work involves the responsible, confidential handling of sensitive information and extensive front desk contact with the public.
