About The Position

USD 495 is seeking a Secondary Social Studies Teacher for the 2026–27 school year to work with students at Larned Middle School. Placement at Larned High School may also be considered based on district needs. About USD 495 USD 495 is a PK–12 district serving about 850 students. We are a small, close-knit district where students are known by name and supported by staff who work closely together. Requirements

• Kansas teaching license with a History, Government, or Social Studies endorsement, or ability to obtain
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A student-first approach to teaching and learning
• Ability to work well with others and be part of a team

Nice To Haves

• Social studies teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Teach secondary social studies courses
• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction in history, government, and related social studies content
