About The Position

As the Associate Category Lead for Secondary Markets , you'll manage products, sales channels, vendors, projects and programs within reverse commerce. You'll have direct responsibility for the execution and delivery of strategic plans co-created with reverse commerce leadership. You'll work cross-functionally with teams across the company to maximize recovery across many sources and conditions of inventory. You'll have responsibility for the negotiation and approval of the returns portion of Vendor Program agreements. You will also review, analyze, and assess performance against individual program metrics, grade and manage vendor performance, pull internal reporting, and address daily operational needs. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. Requirements

  • 4 years of project management, order management, merchant, retail or related experience
  • 4 years of experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes
  • 4 years of project or program management experience with financial acumen
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to professionally interface with peers, leadership and external business partners at all levels

Responsibilities

  • Help curate the ideal assortment for outlet stores based on customer returns, trade-in and external resale
  • Set pricing strategy for trade-in, refurbished and external resale value pools; influence pricing for open-box products
  • Determine which channels are appropriate for a given product category across core stores, outlets, online, secondary and liquidation channels
  • Conduct regular financial performance reviews to ensure programs are meeting their desired financial outcomes
  • Identify and develop key relationships to tie programs into product category growth strategies
  • Drive alignment on key metrics including intake, sales volume, sales recovery, discards and ending inventory
