As a Category Associate, you’ll play a key role in supporting our merchandising teams by ensuring vendor contracts, promotional pricing, and product information are processed with precision and timeliness. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Category Managers, vendors, store teams, and cross‑functional partners to maintain data accuracy, resolve pricing issues, and support weekly promotional execution. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1+ year of office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General understanding of standard office procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Basic familiarity with store operations, specifically related to promotional pricing.
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing, data entry, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to perform basic business math (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).
  • Able to read and interpret product labels, UPCs, shelf tags, business forms, and company policies.
  • Excellent documentation, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and balance multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship‑building abilities, with the flexibility to work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Category Support & Data Management:
  • Enter and maintain accurate data for vendor contracts (CMACs), product cost changes, promotional pricing, temporary price reductions (TPR/KPR), ad items, and ad pricing.
  • Update special notes for buying teams, including ad details, KPRs, and special event information.
  • Work directly with store teams to resolve promotional pricing issues, escalating to Category Managers as needed.
  • Ad & Promotional Accuracy:
  • Proof weekly advertisements to ensure accuracy of listed discounts and promotional details.
  • Partner with category managers to complete product plus‑out information and communicate updates to retail teams and replenishment buyers by scheduled deadlines.
  • Vendor & Billing Coordination:
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure all billing is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
  • Support the buying department by facilitating timely communication and documentation flow between internal partners and external vendors.
  • Administrative & Clerical Support:
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, photocopying, and preparing documents.
  • Assist with other clerical duties as assigned by management to support merchandising operations.
