About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide leadership in developing and executing corporate strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. Direct the marketing of all loan packages through public and private placements.

  • Degree: BS from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Years’ Experience: Minimum 7 years related experience and/or training. Two years management or supervisory experience.
  • Specialized Training: Knowledge of Encompass, LOS software, Ellie Mae Product and Pricing System Database software and various investor websites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and adhere to the Secondary Marketing Department’s policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain relations with investors.
  • Management of all third-party hedge company relationships; manage interest rate risk in the mortgage loan pipeline; quantify and relate to profitability and/or risk. Manage interest rate risk on the locked and unsold mortgage pipeline. This is accomplished via bulk delivery and hedge instruments (i.e. derivatives) with durations matching the loan pipeline. This is a continuous function and entails activity several times during each day. Develops various managerial reports quantifying various aspects pertaining to profitability and/or risk factors. This information is disseminated to senior management as an aid for strategic decisions.
  • Oversee and/or directly develop and implement new mortgage products.Evaluate product offering in relation to products being offered in the marketplace to determine whether additional investors and/or products should be added to the offering, spearhead the investor approval process and manage the product implementation with various departments involved.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining relations with approved investors and well as third-party vendors for services used by secondary marketing and shipping.
  • Oversee the creation and dissemination of a daily rate sheet containing rates and prices of mortgage products offered. This function also entails an audit process to ensure accurate information is being distributed. Manage the pricing lock desk function, whereby loan officers rate lock loans. Involvement in this function is ensuring the process is efficient and quality control is maintained. Develop exception reporting to identify errors, or potential concerns.
  • Responsible for co-management of the Encompass/LOS Software System and PPE systems.
  • Direct and manage Secondary Marketing staff. Carry out supervisory/management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems within a timely manner. Manage, train, lead and motivate direct staff members and meet with them on a regular basis to ensure open and productive communications. Determine staffing needs and allocate work based on overall sales volume and pipeline.
  • Keep abreast and maintain a working knowledge of all current CFPB, investor, and underwriting guidelines, federal and state lending laws and can comprehensively explain to direct staff members and others within and outside the organization.
