About The Position

NB Private Equity is one of the largest private equity managers in the world with over $150 billion in AUM. Summer Associates will work as part of NB’s Global Secondary Private Equity team, which manages over $24 billion of investor commitments. With a flexible, global investment mandate, the team can invest across a wide range of asset classes, geographies, and industries. The team’s transaction focus includes complex GP-led secondary transactions (e.g. continuation funds, fund restructurings, preferred equity financing and other bespoke structured transactions), traditional LP interest acquisitions, and other direct investments arising from special situations. This is a fast-growing platform that has significant capital to invest. The secondary team is currently investing out of their fifth flagship fund, which held a final close in 2022 at $4.9 billion, and their second GP-led secondary fund, which held a final close in 2025 at $4.0 billion. The team is also currently in the market raising their sixth flagship fund and has already held a first close. The role is based in New York and offers an exciting opportunity to be part of NB’s fast growing secondary private equity platform. Requirements

  • Targeting current MBA students graduating in Winter 2026 or Summer 2027
  • Excellent academic credentials and GPA
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in top-tier investment banking and/or private equity.
  • Strong judgment, critical thinking and written skills; ability to articulate and present ideas effectively both orally and in written form
  • Show initiative and creativity in approach to problem solving; demonstrated experience in conducting research and interacting with others to develop solutions
  • Ability to multi-task with a fine-tuned attention to detail
  • Team-player attitude and a desire to work on a wide range of projects

  • Buyside experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Screening and conducting due diligence on secondary private equity investment opportunities
  • Performing in-depth research and financial analysis on companies and assets from various stages, sectors, and geographies
  • Preparation of due diligence materials, screening and investment committee memos
  • Interacting with external parties, including private equity sponsors, industry experts and investment bankers, as well as with other areas of the firm internally, to enhance due diligence insights and identify new opportunities
  • Monitoring and conducting analysis on the firm’s existing investments
