About The Position

Responsible for instructing introductory youth and nature related programs at the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. 10 Week Program starting Monday June 8th thru August 21st, Monday thru Friday 8:00 am -- 4:30 pm 40 Hours per week, 10 Week Program

Requirements

  • Experience working with children and experience animal handling preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience instructing youth nature programs desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs, promotes, and supervises introductory youth programs to develop a variety of skills, self-confidence and to teach children about nature.
  • Assists/facilitates summer programs including the Summer Animal Series program.
  • Works with and handles our program animal ambassadors - including birds of prey, reptiles, mammals, and invertebrates.
  • Ensures safety of participants and communicates any behavioral issues to parents.
  • Opens and secures facilities. Maintains applicable equipment.
  • Completes and maintains required paperwork including attendance forms and lesson plans.
  • Follows all policies, procedures, and the philosophy that is set forth by the City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
